this is my assignment

for checkpoint 2, i chose coding.

for my assignment i have added picures that inclue what waves i am talking about as i go for a more easier time following along.

mechanical waves

(i put a image it dosent always work...)

mechanical waves are waves that require a medium to travel through and over all are the reson for the kinds of waves listed below.

  1. mechanical waves-
    1. sound waves
    2. longitudeinal waves
    3. transvers waves

these waves are responsible for us to be able to hear sound, to see the waves in the water and for waves to be in your koi pond. this is the transfer of the energy in the mechanical waves.

electromagnetic waves

(i put a photo but it dosent always work.)

electromagnetic waves do not require a medium and can freely travel through a void however has truble going through a medium, while in a medium it slows down and some of the energy it absorbed in the medium.

  1. microwave
  2. gamma wave
  3. xray
  4. radio
  5. ultraviolet

electromagnetic waves are such like light waves, these do not require a medium. these are able to go through a void(no medium) and is useed for stuff like flashlights, micrwaves, radio's, ext.

WAVE BEHAVIORS.

scattering

scattering is when light of a wave hits a object and "scatters" around the surounding area.

refraction

refraction is when light or waves go through a medium and the direction of the wave is bent(redirected)

reflection

reflection is when a wave hits a smooth/ solid surface that the wave can not go through or go into, and so it bounces off the object.

diffraction

diffraction is caused when a wave is forces into a fraction of the size of the original wave and when its invited into a new open area it spreads out to expand to normal size again.

made by max, have a good day.
